We are honored with a very favorable mention in
the April, 2009 Gourment Magazine regarding accommodations on
Hatteras Island. The April issue featured a culinary tour of the
outerbanks. We were pleased to accommodate the writer of the featured

By now everyone knows
that we are dog lovers. Since we are the proud parents of Heidi
(featured in the calendar) and Twiggy, our rescue Greyhound,
we are delighted to welcome pets at the Cape Pines Motel. Scroll
down to see the photo of Heidi, who was really mugging it up
for the camera one day during a romp at Cape Hatteras National
Seashore. |

Recent improvements & upgrades to our
accommodations:
- The motel now has all non-smoking
rooms! Smoking
is permitted outdoors, ofcourse.
- Coin Operated laundry has been added to our new Common Area in addition to vending, icemachine, guest freezer, too.
- Telephones (yes, Telephones!) were installed in all rooms during
the fall of 2008. We are pleased to offer complimentary local
& 800 dialing from all rooms
- Internet - Free wireless internet was introduced in 2007. We are also proud to announce free hard-wired internet is available in all deluxe rooms, efficiencies and suites as of 2012! Guests
in these rooms have the choice between free wireless and free
wired internet. We have cable modem service and HS DSL as back
up. The lobby internet pc (with printing capabilities) is also
available in the lobby.
- Our landscaping projects continue. Along with the addition of
the swing set, tire swing, and horseshoe pit, we continue to upgrade
lighting (with special regard for the nighttime dog walkers!!)
throughout the grounds. A truly fenced area is available for those free roaming doggies.
- A Weber Gas Grill has been added to the standard
charcoal grill around the pool!
- Room and Suite Renovations have been completed throughout the
courtyard rooms. We have tried to restore much of the knotty pine
paneling, much of which has been hidden under 1970's paneling,
in the courtyard rooms. Both pine and oak flooring has been restored
in rooms 1, 2, 5, 6,7,9,10,11 and 12.
